Hello,

I read about this project on the Librivox forums. I've recently started to record some Dutch audiobooks at Librivox - one finished at the moment. Have I understood correctly that you can also use Dutch language recordings? And if so, does it matter whether it is modern, up-to-date, Dutch or 19th century as in this book?

I've uploaded part 01 of Majoor Frans by A.L.G. Bosboom-Toussaint - the etext is available on Gutenberg (20794-8), but I've also uploaded a txt-file of just the section that I'm reading (the book doesn't have chapters). Let me know if you can use such recordings - if so, I have more than 12 hours of such recordings which I could submit - bit by bit.

Regards,

Anna

Hi Anna,

Thanks for your submission!

>Have I understood correctly that you can also use Dutch language recordings?

Yes, Robin is the lead on the Dutch corpus, and has started recording his own speech.

>And if so, does it matter whether it is modern, up-to-date, Dutch or 19th century as in this book?

This should not be a problem from a speech audio perspective.  It might take a bit of work to add archaic words to the Dutch pronunciation dictionary, but this is d-doable.

>Let me know if you can use such recordings - if so, I have more than 12 hours of such recordings which I could submit - bit by bit.

That would be great!  Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your interest in VoxForge.

Hello Ken,

You're welcome! Since I already have these recordings, it's but little trouble to me...
