Hi,

I'd like to know if the portuguese database have already started. I'd like to help with this database but I don't know where put the speech files here in voxforge. I'm working in a project to port the Julius Speech Recognition Library to fixed-point and to do an open source Portuguese Database. I think that this database could be stay here in voxforge. :)

Anyone have idea where to put the portuguese speech files with the transcript file in voxforge?

Hi gutemjunior,

No, not yet.

Thanks for thinking of us!

If your files are smaller than 50 meg, please put them in the Portuguese Speech Submission forum (as an attachment to a forum post).   If your files are larger than 50 meg, then the best place is the FTP server (where we usually put audiobook chapters).  Please let me know when you upload them there (as a post in this forum).

Once we get enough audio, we can look at creating a Portuguese Subversion repository.

If you want, you can also provide translations to the SpeechSubmission application.  See this link SpeechSubmission Java Applet Localization for a description of what fields need translations.

Out of curiousity ... why would you want to port Julius to fixed-point?

thanks,

Thanks for the answer. :)

I'll buy a nice microphone and start to record next week I think. I'll putting the files right before we record it.

I'd like to run Julius in processors that don't have floating point hardware acceleration, like the nokia N810. It's the first step to port Julius to embedded systems. :)
